After collecting as many as we could find, the worms were put in either the compost bin to "be happy with their family," or a garden bed to help plants grow.

Used an empty pretzel jar (from BJ's, hence the size) to create a "Worm House".
Put rocks on the bottom for water drainage, layered dirt and sand, topped with leaves, pieces of newspaper and banana peels from the compost bin.
Topped off with some worms from around the yard.

Looking closely, we can see some tunnels along the side of the jar, especially in areas where the sand and dirt mix.

The worm tunnels are becoming larger, more elaborate and easier to spot.

We took a hike at Sleeping Giant State Park. We found running water and turned over a few rocks to find worms. I asked Oliver if these were the same as the worms that we found in our backyard. He answered no, and that he could tell because these ones were "silver color."
