Fall Homeschool Day at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center

In an attempt to stop posting a million pictures to FB daily... I am turning to my long abandoned blog as a photo dumping spot.

Photo Journal sounds better I think.
***********************************************************
We attending the Stamford Nature Center homeschool day in the spring and had such a wonderful time we decided to go back for the fall day.

The day started with apple cidering.
Kids each got to put an apple in and give the wheel a turn to help make cider for the pigs.

Next: cutting apples for apple jam.

Animal demonstration:
Introduced the kids to CT native reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals.

We got to play with some goats!!!

How cute are river otters?! I want!

The kids really enjoyed exploring in the woods with trowels and sticks.

Homeschool day programming finished up with some stream exploration.
Owen caught a teensy weensy crayfish.
Oliver spotted but couldn't catch a green frog.

We kind of LOVE watching our boys do their thing.

A bunch of kids ended up on the playground after the program.
They all came together to defend the Millennium Falcon from bad guys.
But the bad guys gained control of the ship of course, and they had to flee in escape pods.
